Highlights from Woodward/Woodard Ancestors of New England
This book traces one line of the descendents of Richard and Rose Woodward of Watertown, Massachusetts, who, in 1634, voyaged on the Elizabeth from Ipswich, England to America.
Ten generations are detailed in this work, starting with the immigrant Richard, (George, John, John, John, Samuel, William, Ambrose, George, and John). In each generation, all siblings and their children are shown in much detail, including marriages and grandchildren. The line moved in the fourth generation to Canterbury, Connecticut. The next four generations lived in New York State (Dutchess, Washington, Sullivan, and Delaware counties) before Ambrose (8th) moved to Illinois.
